Deer Canyon

Deer Canyon is a spectacular gorge fed by eight massive waterfalls, located just a short distance from Kusatsu Onsen. Every waterfall you'll tackle is a significant descent, with none being less than 10 meters high, and the largest reaching a thrilling 25 meters. This course is a true rope work paradise, where you'll utilize various rope systems to descend every single fall, making it a genuine full-scale canyoning experience.

Prepare for an array of exciting techniques: zip-lining that sends you soaring through the air and directly through waterfalls, rope descents where you'll brave powerful currents like a special forces operative, and exhilarating rappels down vertical falls, controlling your own rope as water cascades over you. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced canyoner, we can tailor the experience to your skill level, so you can join with confidence.

Features of Deer Canyon

Top-Class European Style Canyoning: This is one of Japan's premier authentic European-style canyoning courses, even suitable for first-timers.
More Canyoning Time: The starting point is just a 5-minute walk from the base, allowing for more time spent canyoning compared to other courses.
Small Group Focus: Our small group tours allow you to fully immerse yourself in nature while also developing your rope rappelling skills at a comfortable pace.
Tackle a 25m Waterfall: You'll rappel down a maximum 25-meter waterfall, controlling your own rope. (There are a total of four rope sections.)
Jump Options: Choose between 3-meter or 9-meter jumps. (If you're not a fan of jumping, you can clear these sections via zip line.)
Exciting Slides: Enjoy up to 5-meter slides. (There are three in total.)

NOTE: Currently only guided in Japanese

IF there is someone who can translate in the group or if we can organize an English-speaking guide you can participate in the Kusatsu tours.

Pick-up and drop-off services are not available for the Deer Canyon tour. When making your reservation, please select "No" for transportation.

Caution

* Minimum age for participants is 13 years old

* Repeat customers only and must have Rope Licence

* Pregnant ladies cannot participate on this tour

* Tours will still run if it is raining though excessively high water may cause the tour to be cancelled

* No alcohol is permitted prior to the tour. Furthermore, anyone who cannot participate on the tour due to having consumed alcohol will be liable for cancellation charges
